Wednesday May 25th, 2011 - On Tuesday May 24th on the occasion of Mother's Day in Iran, 12 female political prisoners were allowed face to face visitation with their families. Nasrin Sotoudeh, Bahareh Hedayat and Mahdiyeh Golroo were three of the prisoners finally afforded this right.
Approximately two years after the wave of arrests and incarcerations of civil and political prisoners, for the first time a group of female political prisoners were finally allowed to meet face to face (without cabins, telephones or glass barriers) with their families.
The meeting took place collectively in one of Evin prison's visitation halls, where female political prisoners were allowed to meet face to face with their families after months of incarceration. Bahareh Hedayat, Nasrin Sotoudeh Mahdiyeh Golroo were finally allowed to sit with their families around one table after 13, 9 and 3 months respectively. Leyla Tavasoli was another one of the female political prisoners allowed visitation with her family on Tuesday.
Reza Khandan, Nasrin Sotoudeh's husband told Deutsche Welle the following regarding this face to face visit: "With the exception of a few court hearings where we saw Nasrin accidentally, we had not had a real, face to face visitation with her for 9 months. Finally after 9 months we were able to see her up close."
32 female political prisoners are currently being held in a 40 to 50 meter hall at Evin's Quarantine Methadone Ward [reserved for criminals and drug addicts]. "Nasrin says that after 8 additional female political prisoners were transferred from Gharchak prison in Varamin to this ward, the space has become even tighter and some prisoners are now forced to sleep on the floor", explains Khandan.
Sotoudeh also informed her husband that the female prisoners have been holding specialized classes. According to Khandan "The he ladies have begun holding classes depending on each person's area of specialty. My wife for example, has been holding classes on citizen's rights, a class that has been welcomed by others."
نسرین ستوده به زندانیان حقوق شهروندی آموزش می‌دهد
روز سه‌شنبه سوم خرداد به مناسبت روز مادر در ایران به ۱۲ زندانی سیاسی زن اجازه داده شد تا با خانواده‌هایشان ملاقات حضوری داشته باشند. نسرین ستوده، بهاره هدایت و مهدیه گلرو از جمله این زندانیان بودند.
بعد از گذشت نزدیک به دو سال از موج دستگیری و بازداشت فعالان سیاسی و اجتماعی، برای اولین بار به طور دسته‌جمعی به برخی از زندانیان سیاسی زن اجازه داده شد تا بدون کابین و شیشه و تلفن با خانواده‌های خود ملاقات کنند.
ملاقات به طور جمعی در یکی از سالن‌های ملاقات زندان اوین انجام شده. تقریبا تمامی این زندانیان پس از ماهها توانستند با خانواده‌هایشان حضوری دیدار کنند. بهاره هدایت پس از ۱۳ ماه، نسرین ستوده بعد از ۹ ماه و مهدیه گلرو پس از سه ماه توانستند با خانواه‌هایشان دور یک میز ملاقات کنند. لیلا توسلی از دیگر زندانیان سیاسی زن بود که روز سه‌شنبه با خانواده خود ملاقات حضوری داشت.
رضا خندان همسر نسرین ستوده درباره این دیدار به دویچه‌وله گفت: «۹ ماه بود که نتوانسته بودم جز در برخی جلسات دادگاه و به طور اتفاقی نسرین را حضورا ملاقات کنم. بالاخره بعد از ۹ ماه توانستم او را از نزدیک ببینم».
در حال حاضر ۳۲ زندانی سیاسی و عقیدتی زن در سالنی ۴۰ تا ۵۰ متری در بند قرنطینه اوین نگهداری می‌شوند. رضا خندان به نقل از نسرین ستوده می‌گوید، پس از انتقال هشت زندانی سیاسی از قرچک ورامین به این بند، فضا بسیار تنگ‌تر شده به طوری که برخی از زندانیان "کف خواب" هستند یعنی مجبورند روی زمین بخوابند.
نسرین ستوده همچنین از برگزاری کلاس‌های تخصصی برای دیگر زندانیان گفته. به گفته‌ی آقای خندان: «خانمها به تناسب تخصصی که در رشته‌های مختلف دارند به عنوان استاد در رشته خودشان تدریس می‌کنند. خانم من در زمینه حقوق شهروندی کلاس‌ها‌یی را برای سایر زندانیان برگزار می‌کند که می‌گفت با استقبال خوبی مواجه شده است».
