Wednesday March 30th, 2011 - Mir Hossein Mousavi's daughters have issued a statement informing the public that Haj Mir Esmail Mousavi, Mir Hossein Mousavi's father and grandfather to the martyrs Ali and Ebrahim Mousavi passed away at noon today.
It has been reported that since the house arrest of his son, Mir Esmail Mousavi who was accustomed to regular weekly visits by Mousavi, was continuously asking about his son's well being and whereabouts. In the more than 45 days that Mir Hossein Mousavi has been under house arrest, he was only allowed visitation with his ailing father once and under very tight security conditions when he and his wife Zahra Rahnavard were allowed a short visit with Mir Esmail in his room, in the presence of three male security officers and one female security officer. It is worth mentioning that, the presence of so many security personnel did not go unnoticed by the elder Mousavi.
The content of the statement by Mir Hossein Mousavi's daughters provided to Kaleme is as follows:
In the name of God to whom we shall all return,
Our grandfather Haj Mir Esmail Mousavi passed away today at his house and joined God's mercy, his wish to see his son one last time denied.
Mir Hossein Mousavi's father spent the last 45 days in the throws of death asking his wife daily about the well being and whereabouts of his son. In response to the continuous questions by their ailing, old grandfather, who was accustomed to weekly visitations and daily telephone conversations with his son, Mir Hossein Mousavi's daughters answered that Mousavi was on a trip and would be returning shortly. At times, in order to alleviate their old grandfather's anguish one of Mir Esmail's other sons would call him and ask how he was doing on behalf of Mir Hossein Mousavi, a conversation that often ended with Mir Esmail's painful and all knowing silence.
Mir Esmail was a noble man, the garden of his house giving fruit to some of the purest and noblest citizens of our land. The pure dinner table at his home was filled with the memories of religious days. The days and nights spent in worship and prayer creating a heaven like place on earth, while his soul found solace and peace in the heavenly garden that awaited above.
Mir Esmail Mousavi passed away carrying the painful burden of his martyred grandchildren; Ebrahmin who was martyred for the sacred defense of our country [during the 8 year war with Iraq] and Ali who gave his life for the Green victorious path to freedom; two brothers who lost their lives one in the war front in the desert of Karbala and the other during the bloody Ashura in Tehran. Mir Esmail Mousavi died suffering the absence of his son and daughter-in-law who were unjustly persecuted and captured by the oppressors because they dared to stand up for freedom and demand the rights of the people of our nation. This pure and noble soul left us in the same peaceful and patient manner he himself was known for. Mir Esmail Mousavi was a true believer. He was known as the [prophet] Job "Ayoub" of our family; patient and steadfast in his belief. Our father learned truthfulness, honesty, patience and the love of God from his father. It goes without saying that the reward for the believers and those who were not willing to fray from God lies with God Almighty alone.
We have no fear of the constant suffering that awaits us, for we know that honorable men will join God All Mighty and the path to God from this world to the after world is a blessing in which one is freed from yearning for long lost dreams. We know that those who stand tall will be forever eternalized in history, for it is surprising how history repeats itself. The solemn separation of fathers and sons is a life long tradition, one that over the course of history has separated Yousef from Yaghoub, a tradition in which so many Yousefs were pulled out of the wells and many a Moses were returned to the arms of their families. We are hopeful therefore that this darkness will also end and our country is once again green and prosperous.
As we put our humble and kind grandfather to rest and in the hands of God, we are hopeful that he will rest in peace in the presence of those whom he loved, alongside the prophets, with esteem and Devin Mercy, for he has earned God's promise.
The Daughters of Mir Hossein Mousavi
It is worth mentioning that due to the distant family relation between the Supreme Leader and Mir Esmail Mousavi Khamene, and the special standing of the former Mousavi in Khamene, during the revolution Mr. Khamenei took refuge in Mir Esmail Mousavi's house for a while. It was in this same house that Mir Esmail Mousavi, Mir Hossein Mousavi's father passed away in the absence of his son.

اطلاعیه فرزندان میرحسین به مناسبت رحلت حاج میراسماعیل موسوی پدر میرحسین موسوی

چکیده :دلهره ای از رنج مدام روزگارمان نیست که می دانیم مردان پاک خدا را هجرت از جهان خاکی به دنیای باقی سعادتیست و رها شدن از بند قفس آرزویی طولانی. می دانیم که راست قامتان جاودانه تاریخ خواهند بود. شگفت است تاریخ که مدام تکرار می شود. اندوه هجران پدر و فرزند رسم روزگار است که در طول تاریخ یوسف از یعقوب جدا کرده است و همان زمانه هم یوسف ها از چاه به بیرون کشیده است و موسی ها به دامان خانواده برگردانده است. امید که سیاهی و تاریکی رنگ ببازد و گلباغ کشور، سبز و آباد گردد....
حاج میر اسماعیل موسوی پدر میر حسین موسوی دارفانی را وداع گفت. پدر میرحسین موسوی پدر بزرگ شهیدان علی و ابراهیم موسوی پس از حصر و بازداشت خانگی میرحسین مدام سراغ فرزند خود را می گرفت چرا که پیش از آن به صورت منظم با ایشان ملاقات داشت، مقارن ظهر امروز به ملکوت اعلی پیوست. میرحسین در تمام بیش از ۴۵ روزی که در حصر و بازداشت خانگی به سر می برد تنها یکبار آن هم در شرایط زننده امنیتی با حضور انبوهی از ماموران امنیتی در داخل خانه میراسماعیل موسوی و سه مامور امنیتی مرد و یک مامور زن برای خانم رهنورد در اتاق پدر پیر میرحسین توانست ایشان را ملاقات کند. به طوری که پدر میرحسین نیز متوجه غیر عادی بودن این مساله شده بود.
به همین مناسبت فرزندان آقای موسوی اطلاعیه ای صادر کردند. به گزارش کلمه متن کامل اطلاعیه به شرح زیر است:

انا لله و انا الیه راجعون
حاج میر اسماعیل موسوی پدر بزرگمان، پدر میر حسین موسوی در آرزوی دیدار فرزند، دیده از جهان فرو بس
پدر میرحسین موسوی امروز ظهر در منزل خود دار فانی را وداع گفت و به رحمت خدا پیوست. وی در آرزوی دیدار فرزند خود این چهل و پنج روز را در حالتی شبیه احتضار می گذراند و هر روز سراغ میرحسین را از همسر خود می گرفت. فرزندان میرحسین موسوی و بقیه اقوام وی به خاطر کهولت سن او در جواب سوال های مداومش، در مورد نبود میرحسین موسوی که هر هفته به دیدار پدر می رفت و هر روز تلفنی جویای حال پدر خود بود می گفتند که پدرمان به مسافرت رفته است و به زودی بر می گردد و گاهی برای رفع دلتنگی های پدربزرگ پیر یکی از پسران دیگرش از جانب میر حسین موسوی حالش را می پرسید. احوال پرسی ای که با سکوت دردمندانه و معنا دار او روبرو می شد.
مردی که خانه پاکش باغ روییدن پاکترین و خالص ترین فرزندان این خاک و بوم شد و سفره پاک و پر از روزی حلالش و عبادتهای شب و روزش سالهای سال بهشتی زمینی را پدید آورده بود که جان و دل در باغ آسمانیش آرام می یافت. مردی که ستون معنوی خانواده خود بود.
اکنون با کوله باری از درد و حرمان با داغ نوه های گلگون کفنش، ابراهیم شهید دوران پر افتخار دفاع مقدس و علی شهید راه سبز و همیشه پیروز آزادی، دو برادر به خون خفته یکی در صحرای کربلایی جبهه ها و دیگری در عاشورای سرخ تهران و نیز در هجران و اندوه فرزند و عروسش که به ناحق و به جفا و تنها برای فریاد حق طلبی و آزادی خواهی اسیر ظالمان گشته اند، دار فانی را وداع گفت. دل پاکش با صبر و رضایت عجیبی که همیشه چهره نورانیش را مصفا می نمود، آرام گرفت. او ایوب خانواده بود. و پدرمان نیز ایوبی و راستی، از او فراگرفته بود ، که البته اجر مومنان و آنها که تنها گفتند لا و حاضر نشدند بنده غیر خدا شوند با خداوند متعال است و هو ارحم الراحمین.

پدر بزرگ مهربان و مظلوممان را به خدا می سپاریم و امیدواریم در کنار آنها که دوستشان می داشت و در کنار انبیا و اولیای و در جوار قرب و رحمت الهی آرام گیرد که وعده الهی حق است.
و قضی بینهم باالحق و قیل الحمد لله رب العالمین

قابل ذکر است که به علت نسبت دور خانوادگی رهبری با میر اسماعیل موسوی خامنه، پدر میرحسین، و نیز جایگاه خاص مرحوم در خامنه ، در دوران انقلاب، آقای خامنه ای مدتی در خانه ایشان پناه داشتند و در همین خانه که پدر آقای موسوی در فقدان پسرش جان سپرد زندگی می کرد
