Wednesday March 3rd, 2011 - In a note published on his site this morning, Mohammad Taghi Karroubi, the second son of Mehdi Karroubi provided a full account of the events that occurred on Monday February 21st [2 Esfand 1389] when security forces raided his father's residence. According to Saham News, Mohammad Taghi Karroubi's note is a detailed narrative of the untold story of how the government took his family hostage.
The complete content of the note is as follows:
On Monday February 17th, 2011 coinciding with the birth of Imam Jafar Sadegh [6th Imam of the Shiites], security forces raided my father's residence, putting an end to their house arrest. In order to conceal the truth, they informed my brother that my father's house arrest had ended and that his children were now free to visit with him. Upon hearing the news, Ali and his wife immediately went to my father's home, only to find 30 masked security agents inside their residence. My father was locked in a room on the first floor and my mother was being held on the 5th floor. Ali whose own arrest had been previously been announced by state owned media, allegedly saw my father for a few minutes on that day. Ali's wife, the sister of three martyrs of the 8 year holy war with Iraq, however, was unable to meet with our parents, supposedly because unlike Ali, she was not being arrested. She who had repeatedly heard about how the Savak [Iran's Intelligence Ministry under the Shah notorious for torturing opponents] treated its opponents, shockingly witnessed similar behavior [by the ruling government]. The house was emptied in a very bizarre manner. All documents and books both juridical and political, and daily necessities including my mother's medicine were taken. My sister-in-law was at a loss for words. She kept asking herself how they could treat one of their own, someone who had dedicated his life to their cause, and his wife the only lady to have received a letter honoring her by the Imam, in such a manner. I will write more about the manner in which the Savak entered people's homes and my personal experiences at a later date, for the memories of the three times they raided our house when I was but a child are still vivid in my mind.
My sister-in- law Nafiseh Panahi was still seeking an answer to her initial question when she was taken to the first floor for interrogations by a rude, bold and uneducated women. A polite security agent was also present in the room. Nafiseh's nterrogation ended in an argument and her cell phone being confiscated, for the woman interrogating her, incapable of analyzing basic facts, only repeated what 20 to 30 other interrogators and Mr. Zarghami's media outlets had regurgitated in the past and continue to insist upon to this day. If only they would hire a few rational analysts, capable of explaining at minimal the judicial facts. At least then they could put on the facade that they believe their own words. To them [the ruling government] we are all in the same category as a small group of paid thugs. They have delegitimized the claims of our people, rendered the pillars of governance sacred and worst of all used the blood of our martyrs for self serving purposes, as if are martyrs are a worthless commodity to be paraded in front of the world at large. This time the person witnessing this behavior was someone who has sacrificed three young brothers to her country and the ideals of the revolution. She had paid a price that would make most humans bow in honor of a family who had lost their loved ones for the good of their country. In all honesty, how many people in our nation are in a position to claim that they have paid such a heavy price on its behalf? Must those who have an opposing point of view to that of the ruling government endure such injustice and oppression? Those who belong to the generation that led this [Islamic] revolution and now remain silent in light of the injustices against the families of our martyrs, and only look for their own best interest, should be ashamed. My sister-in-law recounted: "As I tried to explicitly and clearly respond to their numerous questions, I was reminded of the time when I was a child and my brother went to the war front in order to honor and protect our country from those who were trying to invade it. I told myself that if they set me free today, I will visit my brother grave only to cry, rise and witness what those who are brazen with power and wealth are doing in your pure name. Rise and witness what you wanted and what ended up happening...".
After hours of interrogations and having been denied visitation with my father, Nafiseh returned to her home while Ali remained with the security agents conducting a search of our father's house. Ali was taken hostage and sent to Evin prison on bogus and ridiculous charges that day and despite numerous inquiries we also have no news on the whereabouts and well being of our parents since then. My parents' predicament is worse than that of Ali's and others like him currently held in solitary confinement, for those held in solitary confinement are at minimum allowed a phone call to their family and loved ones every so often. We however, have been kept in the dark when it comes to our parents. Of the entire Karroubi family of six, three are behind bars at the hands of this regime. My brother's house is under government control and his children are so fearful of the security agents that they no longer attend school. The rest of us have been deprived of all communication lines and are fearful for our lives and random attacks and arrests by security forces. In summary, the offspring of Ahmad and his descendants are now suffering the same predicament as that of the Hakim and Sadr families in former Iraq.
As for my mother and father's arrest that has unfortunately incorrectly been referred to in the past 20 days as a "house arrest", I must say that they have been detained and not under "house arrest". We have no news of them and only God knows what condition they are in. We are grateful to legal experts and human rights activists who have spoken out regarding this matter and brought attention to the illegal arrest of my parents; an arrest that is contradictory to Iran's judicial framework. Our honorable companions Mr. Mousavi and Dr. Rahnavard are also not under house arrest. Regardless of their location and condition, we must acknowledge that they are prisoners of this regime. The onus is now on this regime to press legal charges, publish all supposed evidence against them and entitle them to the rights afforded to every prisoner under the law. It is worth mentioning, that to date the judicial authorities and the authorities of Iran's National Security Council have yet to presented our families with any official charges leading to the house arrest and ultimate detention of my parents and that of Mr. Mousavi and his honorable wife Dr. Rahnavard. The media outlets have also not published any charges to date. Our expectation of the Attorney General, in his capacity as protector of the rights of our citizens, was to at minimum ensure that the law is enforced. However, contrary to our expectations, the Attorney General chose instead to ignore all legal principles upon which the judiciary is based.
Karroubi and Mousavi have both repeatedly announced that they are willing to be tried in a public court of law in order to provide evidence of the deviations [by the ruling government] from our National Covenant the Constitution and from the ideals of our martyrs. They have repeatedly asked to be provided with the opportunity to recount what has been done to the honorable people of our nation over the past two years. My father told us on numerous occasions that based on his memory of historic events, he is ready to recount the untold stories of our revolution in a court of law to the nation of Iran. He strongly believes that God is the main judge and enduring any hardship to gain his love and approval is worth the entire universe. He has also repeatedly stressed that the people, who are the true heirs of our great nation will be the judges of their actions versus that of the ruling government.
Considering that the only commonality between the Green Movement of Iran and Keyhan Newspaper is that we both believe in the importance of holding an public trial, I suggest that a public trial be held with live video transmission in the Grass area of Azadi stadium with capacity to hold over 100,000 people, so that in the presence of such a unique jury the government can present its indictments and the Leaders of the Green movement can present their defense and the nation of Iran can make their own judgment. Let us define our nation by including all its citizens, not only the plain clothes agents engaged in rouge and unacceptable behavior supported by the security forces loyal to this regime. For six consecutive nights we witnessed the gathering [in front of my father's residence] of hollering thugs you refer to as our entire nation, who supposedly spontaneously showed up to chant vulgarities against us, the late Imam and his honorable descendants, a number of Shiite Grand Ayatollahs, Mr. Hashemi Rafsanjani, Mr. Khatami and Mr. Mousavi.
In conclusion, I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude and thank all political, civil and cultural figures and the honorable nation of Iran for their efforts to inquire about the condition of our great leaders and their spouses.

محمد تقی کروبی، دومین فرزند مهدی کروبی، در یادداشتی که امروز در سایت خود منتشر کرد، شرح کاملی از رخدادهای روز دوشنبه و حمله نیروهای امنیتی به منزل پدرش را بازگو کرد.
به گزارش سحام نیوز، در این یادداشت، روایت دقیق و همچنین ناگفته هایی بازگو شده است که ابعاد بیشتری از این گروگان گیری حکومتی را برملا می کند. متن کامل بدین شرح است:
وَ سَیعْلَمُ الَّذِینَ ظَلَمُوا أَی مُنْقَلَبٍ ینْقَلِبُونَ
به زودى ستمکاران خواهند دانست که به کجا بازگشت مىنمایند. (قران کریم: شعراء: ۲۲۷)
دوشنبه برابر با ۱۷ ربیع الاول همزمان با میلاد پیامبر رحمت صلى الله علیه وآله و زادروز فرخنده امام جعفر صادق علیه السلام ، نیروهای امنیتی حصر محل سکونت پدر را شکستند و بداخل منزل یورش بردند. برای عدم درج خبر از موضوع، مکارانه به برادرم گفته شد حصر پایان پذیرفته شده و فرزندان می توانند برای دیدار با پدر و مادرم به منزل بروند. علی و همسرش بلافاصله به آنجا رفتند اما به جای دیدار شاهد حضور بیش از ۳۰ مامور امنیتی با صورت های بسته در منزل شدند. پدر در اتاقی در طبقه اول محبوس شده بود و مادر درطبقه پنجم. علی که خبر دستگیری اش از سوی سایت های وابسته پیشاپیش اعلام شده بود، ظاهرا پدر را برای لحظاتی می بیند اما عروس خانواده که خواهر سه شهید دوران دفاع مقدس است، بدان جهت که بنابر بازداشت اش نبوده، اجازه دیدار با والدینمان را نمی یابد. او که بارها از زبان پدر و مادرم رفتارهای ساواک با مخالفین را شنیده بود، اینبار شوک زده شاهد رفتاری متفاوت قرار می گیرد. تخلیه منزل بطور عجیبی از کلیه اوراق، اسناد و کتب اعم از فقهی و سیاسی و نیز وسائل ابتدائی نظیر داروها مادر و غیره . او برایم گفت که از خود پرسیدم خدای من این قوم با یکی از بنیانگذاران این نظام که عمر خود را در مبارزه سپری کرده و همسرش بعنوان تنها بانویی که از امام کتبا تقدیر نامه گرفته اینگونه رفتار می کنند ، پس با دیگر مخالفان سیاسی و مردم بی نام و نشان چه می کنند؟ در باب اینکه ساواک چگونه به منازل ورود می کرد و چه اقلامی را با خود می برد بعدا خواهم نوشت زیرا هجوم سه بار ساواک در دوران کودکی را به خوبی بیاد دارم.
نفیسه هنوز پاسخی برای سوال اولش پیدا نکرده بود که زنی بی ادب، جسور و بی سواد او را برای بازجویی به اتاقی در طبقه اول می برد. در اتاق مردی مودب از نیرو های امنیتی نیز حضور داشته است. بازجویی از نفیسه پناهی به همراه توقیف موبایلش به جدل کشیده می شود زیرا آن زن بدون آنکه حتی قدرت تحلیل اولیه را داشته باشد، همان چیزی را لقلقه زبان می کرد که ۲۰:۳۰ ، بازجویان و دیگر شبکه های رسانه جناب ضرغامی به یک ادبیات برابر بارها گفته و می گویند. ای کاش چند نفر تحلیل گر عاقل استخدام می کردند تا حداقل موارد دستوری را به بیان های مختلف می گفتند تا هم کمی جذاب شود و هم انسان فکر کند تقلید کنندگان به آنچه می گویند باور دارند. خلاصه کردن مردم در عده ای مزد بگیر بیگانه، نامشروع دانستن مطالبات مردم، قدسی کردن ارکان حاکمیت، و از همه بدتر استفاده ابزاری از خون شهدا برای متاع قلیل امروز دنیا. اما اینبار الحق که به کاهدون زدند. کسی که آنجا نشسته بود سه برادر جوان رعنا و بی ادعایش را برای حفظ کشور، میهن و آرمان های اصیل انقلاب از دست داده است – هزینه ای که هر انسانی با هر عقیده ای در قبال آن سر تعظیم فرود می آورد و خانواده آن عزیزان سفر کرده را ناموس بی بدلیل کشور می داند. براستی چند نفر در کل این کشور چنین هزینه ی سنگینی برای دوام و بقای آن داده اند؟ آیا رواست امروز آنان به صرف داشتن عقیده و نظری متفاوت از حاکمان، تحمل ظلم و زور نمایند؟
برای آن دسته از نسل انقلاب و جنگ شرم آور است که در قبال این ظلم ها به خانواده های معزز شهدا سکوت اختیار کرده و برای بهره جستن از متاع ناچیز حکومتی همچون کبک سر به زیر برف کرده اند. همسر علی می گوید در حالیکه پاسخ های خیلی صریح وشفاف به آنها می دادم، به دورانی برگشتم که خردسال بودم و برادرانم برای حفظ کیان و ناموس این کشور از تعرض بیگانه به جبهه می رفتند ، به خود گفتم اگر امروز رها شدم به مزار برادرانم می روم و به آنها می گویم برخیزید و ببینید بنام خون پاک تان، نااهلان آلوده به قدرت و ثروت چه گستاخانه هر آنچه که می خواهند انجام میدهند، برخزید و ببینید چه می خواستید و چه شد!!!
بعد از ساعت ها بازجویی و بدون دیدار با پدر در نیمه شب و در حالیکه نیروهای امنیتی به همراه علی منزل را جستجو می کردند، نفیسه به منزل می رود. همسرش، علی از آن روز تاکنون با عنوانی مضحک و مسخره بعنوان یک گروگان در زندان اوین است و از سرنوشت پدر و مادرم علیرغم پیگیری های فراوان خبری در دست نیست. وضعیت پدر و مادرم از علی و امثال علی که در انفرادی هستند بدتر است، زیرا گاه بازجویان به متهمین انفرادی اجازه می دهند تا یک تلفن ساده به خانواده بزنند، اما از آنان هیچ نمی دانیم. از کروبیان ۶ نفره، سه نفر در بند حاکمیت هستند، منزل برادر تحت کنترل و فرزندانش از ترس نیرو های امنیتی جرات رفتن به مدرسه را ندارند، الباقی هم خطوط ارتباطی قطع و امنیت ندارند و هر لحظه منتظر یورش و دستگیری. خلاصه کلام فرزند احمد و نوادگانش حکم خانواده حکیم وصدر در عراق گذشته را پیدا کرده اند.
و اما در باب بازداشت پدر و مادرم که متاسفانه و به اشتباه در ۲۰ روز گذشته از واژه حصر خانگی استفاده می شد باید بگویم که آنان در بازداشت به سر می برند نه حصر. از وضعیت آنان هیچ خبری در دست نیست و خدا می داند در چه وضعیتی هستند. حقوق دانان و فعالان حقوق بشری در باب حصر و جایگاه آن در نظام حقوق ایران بسیار سخن گفته اند که جای تقدیر و تشکر از تمامی آنان را دارد که به روشنگری در این زمینه پرداختند. این عزیران به همراه مهندس موسوی و دکتر زهرا رهنورد در حصر نیستند و صرف نظر از آنکه در چه مکانی و با چه وضعیتی نگهداری می شوند باید اذعان کرد که زندانی حکومت هستند، فلذا بر حاکمان است که اتهام، ادله و مستند بازداشت و حکم قانونی را منتشر کنند و اجازه دهند آنان از حقوق زندانیان مصرح در قانون برخوردار شوند. لازم به ذکر است که تاکنون هیچ حکمی از مقام ذی صلاح قضایی و یا دستوری از شورای امنیت ملی مبنی بر حصر و یا بازداشت پدر و مادرم و نیز مهندس موسوی و همسر محترمه ایشان به دو خانواده ابلاغ نگردیده است. پر واضح است که در رسانه ها هم چنین حکم یا دستوری تاکنون منتشر نشده است. انتظار داشتیم حداقل به لحاظ شکلی دادستان کل کشور بعنوان مدعی العموم و حسب وظیفه ذاتی خود یعنی حفظ حقوق شهروندی، احیای حقوق عامه و نظارت بر حسن اجرای قوانین به این مهم بپردازد که برخلاف انتظار، ایشان حتی بدیهیات علم حقوق و قضاء را در بیان خود رعایت نکرد.
کروبی و موسوی بارها اعلام کرده اند که صرف نظر از هر حکمی که از قبل برای آنان صادر شده باشد، حاضرند در هر دادگاه علنی ایی محاکمه شوند و ادله خود را برای انحراف حاکمیت از قانون اساسی این میثاق ملی، آرمان های شهدا و نیز آنچه بر مردم و فرزندان برومند آن در دو سال گذشته رفته است، ارائه دهند. پدر بارها به ما گفتند که آماده اند در دادگاه با ارجاع به حافظه تاریخی خود و بیان خاطرات گذشته مسائل ناگفته این انقلاب را برای مردم بیان کند. او بر این باور است که داور اصلی خداست و تحمل هر سختی به عشق رضایت او بر کل عالم هستی می ارزد. ایشان همچنین بارها تاکید کردندکه مردم وارثان اصلی این کشور و سرزمین باید میان ما و حاکمیت قضاوت کنند.
با عنایت به تنها نقطه مشترک میان جبهه سبز ایران و روزنامه کیهان در برپایی دادگاه علنی پیشنهاد می کنم محکمه ای سیار در زمین چمن استادیوم یکصد هزار نفری آزادی با پخش زنده برپا کنید تا با حضور هیت منصفه ای بی نظیر، کیفر خواست هیئت حاکمه و دفاعیات رهبران در بند استماع شود و مردم به قضاوت میان حاکمیت و معترضین بپردازند. اجازه دهید امت را کل مردم ایران بدانیم نه آن لباس شخصی ها که بعضا بعنوان امت خود جوش ترموستاتشان در مواقعی به جوش می آید که حمایت نیروهای امنیتی را دارند. در شش شب متوالی در مقابل منزل پدرم شاهد تجمع، عربده کشی و عقده گشائی این امت خود جوش مسلح و توسل آنان به الفاظ رکیک و ناموسی به ایشان، بیت مرحوم امام و نوادگان محترم آن عزیز، برخی از مراجع بزرگ شیعه، آقایان هاشمی، خاتمی و موسوی بوده ایم.
در پایان فرصت را غنیت شمرده و بدینوسیله از تمامی شخصیت های سیاسی، اجتماعی و فرهنگی و نیز مردم بزرگ ایران که جویای وضعیت این بزرگان هستند، تشکر و قدردانی می کنم.
