Friday April 29th, 2011 - Upon completion of a portion of her medical examinations, Fatemeh Karroubi once again returned to house arrest yesterday afternoon. Prior to returning home, Saham News had a brief opportunity to speak to Mrs. Karroubi regarding the conditions and challenges she and her husband Mehdi Karroubi have endured in their 71 days under house arrest.
In the brief interview with Saham News, Fatemeh Karroubi once again spoke of the 6 consecutive nights after the February 14th [25 Bahman] demonstrations when a number of regime thugs and gangsters gathered outside their residential complex at midnight, engaging in shouting out vulgarities, vandalizing, destroying the closed circuit cameras, throwing sound grenades at the building and disturbing the peace of neighbors and residents, all while security forces stood by idly without interfering. Mrs. Karroubi expressed regret over the government resorting to the use of thugs rather than accepting responsibility. While rejecting claims by certain security officials that the gatherings outside her house had been spontaneous, Mrs. Karroubi reiterated: "Resorting to the use of gangsters and thugs is typical of all dictatorial regimes. Though we are witnessing this type of behavior in other countries in the area, let us not forget that it will leave an indelible mark of shame on this regime."
Fatemeh Karroubi continued: "Those who have participated in these injustices or have facilitated this group's behavior by remaining silent should know, that sooner or later there will be consequences to the choices they have made."
When asked about the conditions of their detention and house arrest, Mrs. Karroubi responded: "Prior to Persian New Year [Norooz], the conditions of our house arrest were very difficult and they [security officers] treated us harshly. My husband and I were not even afforded the basic rights granted prisoners held in solitary confinement. After the New Year however, the regime's approach towards our detention changed and our conditions have slightly improved."
Fatemeh Karroubi emphasized: "The term house arrest is not accurate, for the security forces have not only occupied the entire residential complex, but also have the right to be present in our apartment. I have not be granted the basic rights afforded a prisoner such as access to fresh air and a daily phone call even one day during the pat 71 days. There is much to be said regarding this matter and God willing I will speak in more detail regarding this issue in the future."
Fatemeh Karroubi said the following regarding Mehdi Karroubi's conditon: "Thanks to the grace of God, Mr. Karroubi's morale remains strong. As he has repeatedly stated on previous occasions, he will continue on his path to correct the deviation created in the revolution and defend the rights of our citizens and as always he is willing to pay any price in order to achieve this goal."
In conclusion, Mrs. Karroubi expressed her gratitude and appreciation for the generous outpouring of support for herself, Mr. Karroubi, Mr. Mousavi and Mrs. Rahnavard, by the honorable people of Iran both inside and outside the country. She also apologized to her neighbors for having been subjected to the presence of thugs engaged in disturbing the peace and shouting out vulgarities and profanities in the middle of the night. Fatameh Karroubi also expressed hope that rather than nurturing the needs of henchmen, the ruling government will begin addressing the needs of the underprivileged and distressed.

فاطمه کروبی: توسل به اراذل و اوباش کاری ساده برای حکومت های دیکتاتوری است
سحام نیوز: فاطمه کروبی عصر دیروز بعد از انجام بخشی از امور درمانی خود، به حبس خانگی بازگشت. پیش از بازگشت خانم کروبی فرصتی کوتاه برای سحام نیوز بدست آمد تا با ایشان در ارتباط با شرایط و مشکلات 71 روز حبس و وضعیت آقای کروبی مصاحبه ای کوتاه داشته باشیم.
در این مصاحبه فاطمه کروبی ابتدا به تجمع 6 شب متوالی عده ای از اراذل و اوباش حکومتی بعد از راهپیمایی 25 بهمن ماه که در سایه حمایت های نیروهای امنیتی و نظامی به فحاشی، سلب آسایش از همسایگان در نیمه های شب، سرقت اموال نظیر دوربین های مدار بسته، تخریب منزل و نهایتا انداختن نارنجک های صوتی به منزل پرداختند. ایشان با اظهار تاسف از توسل به اوباش به جای قبول بار مسئوولیت، تحلیل برخی از مقامات امنیتی که این جماعت اوباش را مردم خودجوش می نامند را به سخره گرفتند و تصریح کردند: « توسل به اراذل و اوباش کاری ساده برای حکومت های دیکتاتوری است و امروز می بینیم که در کشور های دیگر منطقه نیز اعمال می شود اما فراموش نکنیم که لکه ننگ آن برای حاکمیت باقی خواهد ماند».
همسر مهدی کروبی همچنین در ادامه تاکید کردند: «آنان که در این ظلم ها نقش دارند و یا با سکوت خود زمینه میدان گیری این جماعت را فراهم می کنند بدانند این امر گزینشی نخواهد بود و دیر یا زود دامن آن را خواهد گرفت».
در ادامه این مصاحبه از خانم کروبی درباره شرایط حبس و بازداشت پرسیدیم. در پاسخ ایشان اظهار نمودند: « تا پیش از عید شرایط بسیار سخت و و برخوردها خشن بود و اساسا من و همسرم از حقوق اولیه یک زندانی انفرادی هم برخوردار نبودیم. اما در سال جدید رویکرد دیگری حاکم شد و اوضاع حبس من و همسرم کمی بهتر گردید».
فاطمه کروبی تصریح کرد:«واژه حصر که در بیرون رایج است درست نیست زیرا ماموران امنیتی نه تنها تمام مجتمع مسکونی را تصرف کرده اند بلکه حتی آپارتمان مسکونی ما را نیز در اختیار دارند» .
ایشان تاکید کردند: « من حقوق رایج یک زندانی نظیر حق هواخوری روزانه و یا دسترسی به تلفن؛ حتی برای یکبار هم در 71 روز گذشته نداشته ام. در این باب سخن بسیار است که ان شاالله در آینده به آن خواهم پرداخت ».
در ارتباط با وضعیت آقای کروبی ایشان تصریح کردند: «روحیه آقای کروبی بحمد لله بسیار خوب است و همانطور که بارها خود گفته اند به مسیر خود در جهت اصلاح انحراف بوجود آمده در انقلاب و دفاع از حقوق مردم ایمان دارند و در این راه آماده پرداخت هر هزینه ای هستند».
خانم کروبی در پایان از محبت بی دریغ و حمایت های مردم شریف ایران در داخل و خارج از کشور نسبت به وی و آقایان کروبی، موسوی و خانم رهنورد تشکر و سپاسگذاری کرد. ایشان همچنین از همسایگان که بواسطه حضور اراذل و اوباش مجبور به شنیدن عربده کشی و الفاظ کثیف و زشت در نیمه های شب شدند، عذر خواهی و اظهار امیدواری کرد که در آینده نزدیک به جای مزدور پروری
به محرومین و دردمندان رسیدگی شود
