Saturday October 2nd, 2010 - Summary: The diary that Tehran prosecutor was referring to in his press conference belongs to Majid Dori, a starred [rating system for politically active students] student who was arrested after the controversial elections last year and is still behind bars at Evin. In a letter addressed to Tehran's prosecutor, Dori makes reference to his diary, explaining the reasons behind why he decided to keep a diary while in prison. Despite the new restrictions imposed on political prisoners in jail, this letter made it out of Evin with the help of anonymous Green friends and was made available to Kaleme.
In a press conference not long ago, Tehran's prosecutor announced that one of the political prisoners in ward 350 at Evin prison had fit his diary inside a milk carton, seeking to get it out to his family through a cell mate who had been given visitation rights with his own family. The prison guards however became aware of this plan and confiscated the prisoner's diary. After this incident, based on orders by Tehran's prosecutor, the restrictions on the political prisoners at Evin's ward 350 were increased three fold.

To the honorable Attorney General,
With greetings,
Two weeks ago at a press conference you made reference to the fact that you intended to provide prisoners with temporary leave of absence from jail and reinstate visitation rights with their families, but one of the prisoners had sought to smuggle his 100 page diary out of prison by hiding it in a milk carton. Since this diary you made reference to belongs to me, I would like to bring the following points to your attention:
- The last time I was allowed to meet with my family in person was six months ago. In the past few months I have only been allowed to meet with them from behind a booth. Interestingly enough, you have restricted physical visitations to only one family member at a time. Is it fair to ban even direct family members to visit their loved ones in prison together? Is it fair that a father, mother, sister, brother, spouse or child, should only be allowed to visit individually on a monthly basis and from behind a window? I have been in jail for 15 months, without temporary leave of absence, facing an unjust sentence. Isn't banning all telephone contact and depriving prisoners from hearing the voices of their friends and loved ones, restricting their physical visitation rights and depriving them of temporary leave of absence not considered putting pressure on political prisoners?
- The only way I knew how to confront these ever increasing pressures and restrictions was to write a diary. They were my personal, daily experiences and since I wanted to avoid violation of my privacy and the fact that anyone for what ever reason would have the right to look into my thoughts, thoughts written about days that felt like months, I decided to transfer my diary out of prison. Since anything written in prison with the intent to be taken out is searched and given that I had not had a physical visitation with my family in six months, it was impossible for me to get my diary to my family. I therefore hid my diary order to ensure that my thoughts would remain private and that it would not be opened and read.
- I taped the diary shut, writing a note on the cover addressed to the person who was to have transferred it out of prison stating that my diary was entrusted to them and that until the day that it would be delivered to me in person, no one had the right to open it. It was therefore personal to the extent that I did not want anyone other than myself to read the content. This also clearly demonstrates that I never had the intention to publish any of its content. There was nothing in my dairy but personal memories and experiences of my days in prison and as a result the content was only my business and no one elses.
Since you have indicated that writing a personal journal is not a crime, I therefore ask that you order that this diary which includes my personal memories be returned to me. I ask that you please respect and honor the privacy of individuals.

چکیده : صاحب آن دفترچه خاطرات که دادستان در مصاحبه مطبوعاتی اش از آن سخن گفت مجید دری ،دانشجوی ستاره داری است که پس از انتخابات پرمناقشه سال گذشته بازداشت شد و تاکنون در زندان اوین است.دری در نامه ای خطاب به دادستان تهران در باره دفترچه خاطراتش و دلیل نگارش خاطراتش در زندان برای وی توضیح داده است .نامه مجید دری با وجود همه محدودیت های تازه که بر زندانیان اعمال می شود ،با کمک یاران گمنام جنبش سبز در اوین به بیرون راه یافته و در اختیار کلمه قرار گرفته است.
کلمه :دادستان تهران چندی پیش در یک مصاحبه مطبوعاتی اعلام کرد که یک زندانی سیاسی در بند ۳۵۰ اوین، با جاسازی دفترچه خاطراتش در یک قوطی شیر ،تلاش کرده که از طریق یکی از هم بندانش که ملاقات حضوری داشته ،آن را به دست خانواده اش برساند اما زندانبانان متوجه این ماجرا شده و دفترچه خاطرات زندانی را گرفته اند. پس از این اتفاق به دستور دادستان تهران محدودیت ها برای زندانیان سیاسی بند ۳۵۰ چند برابر شده است.

دادستان محترم عمومی و انقلاب تهران
با سلام
دو هفته ی پیش طی یک کنفرانس خبری عنوان داشتید که به زندانیان مرخصی و ملاقات داده می شود اما یکی از زندانیان دفتر خاطرات ۱۰۰ صفحه ای خود را در پاکت شیر جاسازی کرده بود و قصد انتقال به بیرون زندان را داشت.با توجه به اینکه مورد یاد شده مربوط به من می شد موارد ذیل را به اطلاع می رسانم:
۱٫شخص بنده آخرین ملاقات حضوری که با خانواده ام داشتم ، شش ماه پیش بود و در این چند ماه فقط ملاقات کابینی داشتم و جالب اینکه ملاقات حضوری را منحصر به یکی از اعضای خانواده کرده اید.آیا این درست است که حتی اعضای درجه یک نتوانند به ملاقات حضوری زندانی خود بیایند؟آیا این درست است که پدر،مادر،خواهر،برادر،و یا همسر و فرزند-در صورت ترتیب ماهی یکبار ملاقات حضوری-هرکدام جداگانه بدون حجاب شیشه ملاقاتی داشته باشند؟اکنون ۱۵ ماه است که بدون مرخصی در زندانم و با حکمی نا عادلانه روبرو. آیا قطع کردن تلفن و عدم امکان شنیدن
صدای دوستان و اقوام،محدودیت در ملاقات حضوری و عدم استفاده از مرخصی فشار بر زندانیان سیاسی تلقی نمی شود؟
۲٫حال با توجه به این محدودیت ها که هرروزبیشتر و شدیدتر میشود،تنها راه مقابله با این فشارها را نوشتن خاطرات دانستم،خاطرات شخصی و روزانه و برای جلوگیری از تعرض به این حریم-که هر کس به هر دلیل وعنوان حق ورود به آن و تفتیش را برای خود مجاز می شمرد- وحفظ ونگهداری روزهایی که هرروزش ماههاست،تصمیم به انتقال آن به بیرون را گرفتم.از آنجاییکه هر نوشته ای بخواهد از زندان بیرون رود مورد تفتیش واقع میشود و نظر به این امر که ۶ماه است ملاقات حضوری نداشته و امکان اینکه به دست خانواده ام برسانم نیز فراهم نبود پس جهت اطمینان بیشتر و اینکه کسی آنرا باز نخواهد کرد،پنهان کردن و شخصی ماندنش اهمیتی بیشتر برایم داشت.
۳٫ جهت اطمینان بیشتر دفتر را بر چسب زده ، بر صفحه ی اول آن خطاب به کسی که دفترچه را در بیرون زندان دریافت می کرد، نوشته بودم که این دفتر به صورت امانت نزد شما بماند و تا تحویل به خودم حق باز کردن آن را ندارید.پس آنقدر شخصی بوده است که نخواهم کسی غیر از خودم آن را بخواند و به طریق اولی روشن می شود که قصد انتشار هم به هیچ عنوان نداشته ام.چیزی نبود جز خاطرات کاملاً شخصی وثبت روزهایی که در زندان بودم پس تنها به من مربوط می شد نه دیگری.
لذا با توجه به مطالب بالا و با عنایت به اینکه جنابعالی گفته بودید که نوشتن خاطرات جرم نیست خواهشمندم دستور فرمایید این دفتر که بخشی از زندگی روزانه ی من و خاطرات و نوشته هایم می باشد به من بازگردانده شود.لطفا حریم شخصی افراد را محترم بشمارید.
