Thursday October 28th, 2010 - Ali Shakouri-Rad, representative of the residents of Tehran in the 6th Parliament and a member of the Islamic Iran Participation Front, was released from prison on bail today, Thursday October 28th, 2010.
Shakouri-Rad was arrested on October 12th after publishing a response to Gholam-Hossein Mohseni-Eje'i entitled "One Disaster after Another". In his response, Shakouri-Rad described the new contradictions and lies and stated: "After Judge Mortazavi, who was a truly a historical phenomenon in our judicial system, Mr. Mohseni Eje'i is beginning to slowly demonstrate that he too has the tendency to become a phenomena; the difference being that Judge Mortazavi had the intelligence NOT to make matters personal and as a result was able to save himself from demise, building alliances with prosecutors and remaining as part of the judiciary for 10 years. Unfortunately, Mr. Mohseni Eje'i does not possess such a reputation. It is therefore highly unlikely that he will survive much longer, particularly as Speaker."
In the past few days, a number of physicians and university professors published a letter to the head of the judiciary demanding that Shakouri-Rad a well known and hard working physician be released from prison. Last week a protest also took place at Sina Hospital where Shakouri-Rad used to practice. During that protest, Dr. Khedmat, Shakouri-Rad's wife, quoted the Health Minister as saying that the Ministry of Health is pursuing Shakouri-Rad's release. Both Shakouri-Rad's sister and son had also published a number of memos on his behalf. In one of the memos written to request her brother's release from prison, Shakouri-Rad's sister stated: "As I think of our loved ones today, I can't help but ask the question, what happened? How did the ruling government take over our lives, our livelihood and our reputation?"
Shakouri-Rad's son also published a letter addressing his father's interrogators stating: "I pity the interrogator who is wasting his life these days pressuring a man like my father."

چکیده : به دنبال تودیع وثیقه برای علی شکوری راد در روز گذشته، امروز پنج شنبه وی از زندان آزاد شد و به آغوش خانواده بازگشت.
علی شکوری راد، نماینده مردم تهران در مجلس ششم و عضو جبهه مشارکت ایران اسلامی، با قید وثیقه آزاد شد.
به گزارش جرس، به دنبال تودیع وثیقه برای علی شکوری راد در روز گذشته، امروز پنج شنبه وی از زندان آزاد شد و به آغوش خانواده بازگشت.
وی بیستم مهرماه به دنبال انتشار مطلبی در پاسخ به ادعاهای محسنی اژه ای احضار و بازداشت شده بود. شکوری راد در نوشته خود تحت عنوان افتضاح روی افتضاح؛ تناقض‌گویی و دروغ‌های جدید، خاطرنشان کرده بود: “آقای محسنی اژه ای کم کم نشان می دهد، بعد از قاضی مرتضوی که حقیقتاً یک پدیده تاریخی در دستگاه قضا بود، تمایل به پدیده شدن دارد با این تفاوت که قاضی مرتضوی، هم با هوش بود و هم مسائل را شخصی نمی کرد و به همین دلیل بموقع لیز می خورد و توانست ده سال بر کرسی دادستانی تکیه بزند اما آقای اژه ای بر حسب اشتهار این قابلیت ها را ندارد. لذا بعید است دوام چندانی بخصوص در سمت سخنگویی داشته باشد.”
طی چند روز گذشته پزشکان و استادان دانشگاه با ارسال نامه ای به رئیس قوه قضاییه خواستار آزادی این پزشک خدمتکار شده بودند. همچنین هفته گذشته در اعتراض به بازداشت وی تجمعی در بیمارستان سینا محل کار شکوری راد برگزار شد. در آن اجتماع دکتر خدمت، همسر شکوری راد، به نقل از وزیر بهداشت گفته بود که این وزارتخانه پیگیر آزادی دکتر شکوری راد است.
خواهر و پسر دکتر شکوری راد هم یادداشت‌هایی را برای این زندانی سیاسی منتشر کرده بودند. خواهر شکوری راد در یادداشتی برای آزادی برادرش، نوشته بود: امروز که محبوبان و مبغوضان را از نظر مى گذرانم نمى توانم دوباره از خودم نپرسم چه شد؟ چگونه اینان حاکم بر جان و مال و آبروى ما شده اند!
پسر این زندانی سیاسی هم نامه‌ای را خطاب به بازجوی پدرش منتشر کرده بود که در آن آمده بود: دلم به حالت می سوزد بازجو، که زندگی ات در این روزها برای فشار به چنین مردی حیف می‌شود.
