Sunday October 3rd, 2010 - According to reports from "Human Rights and Democracy Activists in Iran", ward 2, a female ward at Evin has been deprived of drinking water for the past 24 hours, resulting in poor health conditions for female political prisoners, regular prisoners and newborns held at this ward. Water has been cut off completely at ward 2 for the past 24 hours, making it difficult for female prisoners to have access to drinking water. The lack of water has also lead to undesired sanitary conditions resulting in a number of female prisoners experiencing diarrhea and nausea.
Ward 2 also includes a number of newborns and toddlers under the age of two, incarcerated with their mothers. The lack of water has also led to undesired health conditions for these children and their mothers.
So far all complaints to prison officials by female political prisoners and other female prisoners has been in vane. The head of this ward, Mrs. Rezai, has refused to answer their requests and to take care of the problem. If water is not restored to this ward, it will result in further deterioration of the health conditions, putting the lives of these prisoners at risk.
The water used at the women's ward at Evin is drilled through through the main water wells at Evin. This water is not hygienic and has resulted in acute kidney problems and other health conditions for both the prisoners held in this prison.
Currently there are only 20 female political prisoners being held at Evin prison. Their names are as follows:

The Human Rights & Democracy Activists in Iran, condemns depriving helpless female political prisoners, regular prisoners, newborns and infants from access to drinking water for long periods of time and calls upon the the High Commissioner for Human Rights and other International bodies to end crimes against humanity in Iran.

محروم کردن زنان زندانی سیاسی زندان اوین از آب آشامیدنی
بنابه گزارشات رسیده به "فعالین حقوق بشر و دمکراسی در ایران" بند 2 زنان زندان اوین بیش از24 ساعت است که از داشتن آب آشامیدنی محروم هستند و زنان زندانی سیاسی ،عادی و کودکان شیرخوار در شرایط حادی بهداشتی قرار دارند.
آب بند 2 زنان زندان اوین بیش از24 ساعت است که قطع می باشد. در این بند زندانیان سیاسی زن در اسارت بسر می برند.قطعی آب باعث شده است که زنان زندانی به سختی به آب آشامیدنی دسترسی پیدا کنند. قطع شدن آب همچنین باعث ایجاد مشکلات حاد بهداشتی شده است و تعدادی از زندانیان در اثر حاد شدن وضعیت بهداشتی این بند دچار اسهال و حالت تهوع شده اند.
در بند2 زنان زندان اوین تعدادی نوزاد شیرخوار و کودکان زیر 2 سال که همراه با مادرانشان زندانی هستند نگهداری می شوند . قطعی آب باعث حاد شدن وضعیت بهداشتی کودکان و مادران آنها گردیده است.
مراجعه و اعتراضات مکرر زنان زندانیان سیاسی و سایر زندانیان تا به حال بی نتیجه بوده است . رئیس بند پاسداری بنام خانم رضایی از پاسخ دادن و حل مشکل حاد آنها خوداری می کند . در صورت ادامه یافتن قطعی آب می تواند باعث شیوع بیماریهای مختلف دراین بند شود و جان زندانیان را در معرض خطر قرار دهد.
آب مصرفی بند زنان از چاه های که در زندان اوین حفر شده است تامین می شود. این آب غیر بهداشتی است و باعث مشکلات حاد کلیوی و غیره برای زندانیان سیاسی و سایر زندانیان گردیده است.
در حال حاضر فقط در بند زنان زندان اوین 20 زن زندانی سیاسی در بازداشت بسر می برند که اسامی آنها به قرار زیر می باشد:زندانیان سیاسی نازیلا دشتی، عاطفه نبوی ،مهدیه گلرو ، زهراجباری ،فرح واضحان ،کبری زاغه دوست ، عالیه اقدام دوست ، صبا رضوانی ،هنگامه شهیدی ،بهاره هدایت ،پروین جواد زاده ،ریحانه حاج ابراهیم دباغ ،سوسن تریانیان ، منیژه صفر الهی ، فاطمه خرم جو، مطهره بهرامی حقیقی، عذرا سادات قاضی میر سعید، کفایت ملک محمدی، فاطمه رهنما
فعالین حقوق بشر و دمکراسی در ایران،قطع آب نوشیدنی برای مدت طولانی علیه زنان زندانیان سیاسی ، عادی و کودکان شیر خوار بی دفاع را محکوم می کند و از کمیسر عالی حقوق بشر و سایر مراجع بین المللی خواستار اقدامات عملی برای پایان دادن به جنایت علیه بشریت در ایران است.
