CHRR Confirms Kouhyar Goudarzi's Exile to Rajai Shahr Prison

Thursday October 28th, 2010 - Kouhyar Goodarzi's mother informs CHRR that with less than a month and a half remaining of his 1 year prison sentence, this member of the Committee of Human Rights Reporters has been transferred from Evin's ward 350 to Rajai Shahr prison.

Parvin Mokhtareh, Kouhyar Goodarzi's mother informed CHRR of her son's exile to Rajai Shahr prison adding: "Such a transfer is surprising, given that Kouhyar is completing the last few weeks of his prison sentence. Kouhyar called us from the quarantine ward at Rajai Shahr prison and informed us that without any explanation they requested that he gather his belongings and prepare to be transferred to Rajai Shahr."

Mrs. Mokhtareh referred to this transfer as a form of exile and continued: "After exerting extensive pressure on a number of prisoners who had issued statements about the unacceptable prison conditions, many went through further grueling interrogations and have now been exiled to prisons with even harsher conditions. This is just another form of punishment, as the conditions at the prisons to which they have been transferred are even worse than that of Evin prison. Take Rajai Shahr prison for example; based on the reports published, the sanitary conditions at this prison are very poor and prisoner needs are not addressed."

Goodarzi's exile to Rajai Shahr prison came at a time when his lawyer Mina Jafari had just confirmed that given that he had not taken advantage of his right to a leave of absence and had completed most of his prison sentence, she was going to do everything in her power to ensure Goodarzi's earlier release.

Parvin Mokhtareh stated that her son is in good spirits and continued: "This makes the existing conditions even more difficult for the families of political prisoners as they are forced to travel much longer distances in order to visit with their loved ones. The unity that exists amongst the families of the political prisoners is heart warming and makes it easier for us to endure these difficult conditions."

Kouhyar Goodarzi, member of the Committee for Human Rights Reporters, journalist and web blogger was arrested along with a number of other social activists on December 20th, 2009.  He has gone on a hunger strike twice during the time of his detention at Evin to protest the unacceptable prison conditions and harsh behavior by prison guards. In recent interrogations, prison guards threatened Goodarzi to prevent his release from prison.

انتقال کوهیار گودرزی به زندان رجایی‌شهر

کمیته گزارشگران حقوق بشر - در حالی که کمتر از یک ماه و نیم به پایان دوران حبس کوهیار گودرزی، عضو کمیته گزارشگران حقوق بشر باقی مانده است، پروین مخترع مادر او از انتقال کوهیار گودرزی به زندان رجایی‌شهر خبر داد و گفت: جای بسی تعجب است که در روزهای آخر دوران محکومیت کوهیار چنین انتقالی صورت می‌گیرد. مخترع گفت : "کوهیار دیشب از بند قرنطینه‌ی زندان رجایی‌شهر تلفن زد و گفت بدون هیچ‌گونه توضیحی به او گفتند وسایلم را جمع کنم و برای رفتن به زندان رجایی‌شهر آماده شوم". مادر کوهیار گودرزی این انتقال را تبعید در داخل زندان خوانده و گفت: "بعد از فشارهای زیادی که به تعدادی از زندانیان در مورد تکذیب بیانیه‌های صادر شده وارد شد و بازجویی‌های سنگینی که انجام شد در حال حاضر بیشتر این زندانیان به زندان‌هایی با شرایط سخت‌تر تبعید شده‌اند. این کار نوعی اقدام تنبیهی محسوب می‌شود چرا که وضعیت زندان‌هایی که زندانیان به آنها منتقل شده‌اند از شرایط زندان اوین بدتر است. به عنوان مثال در مورد زندان رجایی‌شهر بر اساس اطلاعاتی که وجود دارد شرایط بهداشتی بسیار بدتر است و رسیدگی‌های مناسبی صورت نمی‌گیرد.

کوهیار گودرزی در شرایطی به زندان رجایی‌شهر منتقل شده است که پیش از این مینا جعفری وکیل کوهیار گودرزی از تایید حکم او خبر داده بود و گفته بود که با توجه به این که کوهیار تا به حال از حق مرخصی استفاده نکرده و بیشتر دوران محکومیت خود را سپری کرده است، برای آزادی او پیش از پایان دوران مقرر حبس تلاش خواهد کرد".

پروین مخترع با اشاره به این که روحیه کوهیار همچنان خوب است ادامه داد: "شرایط خانواده‌ها با این وضعیت سخت‌تر خواهد شد چرا که برای دیدار با عزیزانشان باید مسافت‌های بسیار طولانی را طی کنند و متحمل هزینه‌های مختلف شوند اما خوشبختانه همبستگی خوبی میان خانواده‌های زندانیان وجود دارد و این باعث دلگرمی است".

کوهیار گودرزی عضو کمیته گزارشگران حقوق بشر، روزنامه‌نگار و وبلاگ نویس در تاریخ ۲۹ آذرماه سال گذشته به همراه جمعی از فعالان اجتماعی بازداشت شد و در طی این مدت دو بار در اعتراض به وضعیت بد و رفتار مقامات زندان دست به اعتصاب غذا زده است و نیز در بازجویی‌های اخیر تهدید شده است که از آزادی وی ممانعت به عمل خواهد آمد
