Wednesday October 6th, 2010 - Summary: In a short telephone conversation from prison with her husband, Nasrine Sotoudeh, human rights lawyer informed him that she has been on a hunger strike since September 25th, 2010. According to reports from Jaras, Reza Khandan, Sotoudeh's husband stated that after this short telephone conversation all telephone contact with this well known lawyer was cut off.
Soutoudeh, international human rights lawyer and mother of two young children was arrested on September 4th, 2010. Her last telephone conversation with her family took place on September 18th when she informed them that she planned to go on a hunger strike if her rights would continue to be ignored as an imprisoned citizen. It is this intent that led to extreme concern by her loved ones for her well being in recent days. Today it was confirmed that she has been on a hunger strike for over 10 days.
The International Committee for Human Rights in Italy, presented their first award in 2008 to Nasrin Soutoudeh. In recent years, Nasrin Sotoudeh, was legal council to a considerable number of political activists, journalists, civil activists and youth accused and incarcerated by the Islamic Repbulic of Iran.

چکیده : سرین ستوده حقوقدان پیگیر حقوق بشر، در تماس کوتاهی با همسر خود تصریح کرد که از سوم مهرماه در اعتصاب غذا بسر می‌برد. بر اساس گزارش رسیده به جرس، رضا خندان، همسر ستوده تاکید می‌کند که پس از این تماس کوتاه، ارتباط تلفنی این وکیل برجسته قطع شده است.

ستوده، کارشناس ارشد حقوق بین‌الملل و مادر دو کودک خردسال، ۱۳ شهریورماه گذشته بازداشت شد. آخرین تماس تلفنی وی ۲۷ شهریورماه بود. وی تاکید کرده بود که در صورت عدم رعایت حقوق شهروندی‌اش در زندان، اعتصاب غذا خواهد کرد. همین امر، به دل‌نگرانی‌ها در مورد وضع جسمی وی در روزهای اخیر دامن زد؛ تا آنکه امروز مشخص شد وی بیش از ۱۰ روز است که در اعتصاب غذا بسر می‌برد.
کمیته بین‌المللی حقوق بشر ایتالیا ، نخستین جایزه خود را در سال ۲۰۰۸ به نسرین ستوده اهدا کرد. نسرین ستوده، وکیل مدافع جمع قابل توجهی از فعالان سیاسی، روزنامه‌نگاران، کنشگران مدنی و نوجوانان متهم در سال‌های اخیر بوده است
