Wednesday December 15th, 2010 - In a short note addressed to Nasrin Sotoudeh, Reza Shahabi, Gholam Hossein Arashi and Arash Sadegh, Zahra Rahnavard, writer and university professor requested that they put an end to their hunger strike. Rahnavard made a similar request of Mohammad Nourizad when visiting his family earlier this week.
The complete content of Rahnavard's note is as follows:
To my brave, proud friends Nasrin Sotoudeh, Reza Shahabi, Gholam Reza Arashi, Mohammad Nourizad and Arash Sadeghi, I salute you magnanimous warriors.
Your resistance is an example to the brave children of our nation. You epitomize resistance against the part of the establishment that seeks to demonstrate its sovereignty through beatings, imprisonment and torture while ignoring your cries for freedom.
Our nation has heard your cries for freedom and we are aware of the role you have played in creating awareness. Today your presence has become a threat to a regime that rules through intimidation and fear.
On behalf of myself and a number of families of the political prisoners in prison who are themselves are symbols of the Hosseini resistence, I ask that you please put an end to your hunger strike knowing fully well that our people have heard your message and that the dawn of freedom is near.

«دوستان سرافراز و دلیر خانم نسرین ستوده، آقایان رضا شهابی، غلامحسین عرشی، نوری زاد و آرش صادقی، ای آزادگان سلحشور! سلام و درود برشما به پاس صبر جمیلتان.ا
مقاومت و پایداریتان الگویی است برای ملت و فرزندان رشید ایران.الگوی مقاومت در برابر آن بخشی از حاکمیت که استقرار خود را در زدن ، بستن، زندان کردن و شکنجه دادن می داند و صدای رسای آزادگی و سختی های شما را نمی شنود .ا
اما نقش آگاهی بخش و آزادی آفرین رفتار ومقاومت شما را ملت شنیده است و امروز به همان گنج بی بدیلی دست یافته که حاکمیت قلدر از آن وحشت دارد . آگاهی، شناخت و سامان دهی آرمانهای بلند آزادی و دمکراسی همان گنج جاودانی است که امروز مردم به آن نایل شده اند .ا
اکنون ازجانب خود و همین طور جمع زیادی از خانواده های زندانیان سیاسی که خود نماد مقاومت زینب گونه نهضت حسینی هستند از شما خواهش می کنم با اطمینان به اینکه پیام شما را مردم دریافت کرده اند به اعتصاب غذای خود پایان دهید و امیدوار باشید که صبح آزادی نزدیک است .»ا
